Site description: A long and narrow balcony overlooking the Thames. The brief: Simple design where the view of the river is maximised. The design process: On a consultancy basis two sketches were proposed; one used rectangular planters around the balcony, these would be planted with small grasses to fully exploit the view of the river. While a second, which the client chose, used three planters on either side thus allowing maximum space to entertain friends, while taking full advantage of the view.
