A BASEMENT FLAT GARDEN
Location: Islington
Site description: A small area with steps on its side.
The brief: The client asks to design the front and back garden using exotic plants.

The design process: The slate and colourful concrete pavers were built before Roberto decided on the plants. Large leaf and exotic Eryobotria japonica were placed symmetrically on the corners. Large Phormium and Fatsia japonica were used as the backbone while annuals were used in small containers for colours throughout the season.
Grey zinc planters were placed around the steps and small space to match the zinc colour of the step surface.
Major plant material: Eryobotria japonica, Phormium tenax, Fatsia japonica, Hostas, purple Daturas, heucheras, etc
