In August 2001, Roberto Silva was interviewed by Rede Globo, a major Brazilian television network, about his work as a landscape designer in the United Kingdom. The interview was broadcast nationwide as part the "Jornal Hoje" programme and formed part of a wider piece about Brazilian professionals living and working in London. Silva was interviewed in his most famous commission, the Foster's Garden in Putney, south west London, and he spoke about his experiences of living and working away from Brazil as well as his wider inspirations and philosophy. The programme also focused on the Foster's Garden, and looked at the use of plants as well as the composition and design process. During the interview Silva explained that he felt, clients who are looking for something different rather than a traditional "English garden" are most interested in working with him. |
