PROPOSED
PROJECTS

Public Space: Wesley Garden

Location: Wesley Square, Ladbroke Grove

Site description: The building in Wesley square are two storey maisonettes with flats over along two sides and three storey houses (Nos. 25-30) along one end. There were approximately 80 adults living in the square and 20 children, including babies.

The garden comprises the main area of communal garden on the enclosed plan together with the planting on the lane leading past nos. 31-39 towards Kingstown close and the trees on Kingstown Close behind property nos. 25-30.

The brief: The garden lay out should remain in principle, as it was that was a grass central area with planted areas to the sides. The issue of security should also be identified as important, and therefore planting should be carried out to minimise the possibility of intruders gaining access the fences and hiding in the garden itself.

The diagonal path should be refurbished as part of the project and the lay out should remain as they are.

Proposals for restoring the lawn and a muddy patch opposite nos. 27 and 28.

Additional and replacement lighting is required in the square for security and aesthetic reasons.

Replacement gates are very likely to be added at the entrances from Bartle Rd and by the church.
